What Cookies and Similar Technologies Are
Cookies are small text records stored by a browser. Similar browser storage and identifiers can remember a choice, distinguish a browser or session, help deliver or measure advertising, and support aggregate site measurement. A cookie can be set for the Woodshop Math domain (first party) or for another provider's domain (third party).
Current Application Storage
Woodshop Math's calculator application does not use localStorage, sessionStorage or IndexedDB to persist calculator inputs or results. Calculator data remains in browser memory while the tool is used and leaves the browser only when the visitor requests a copy, download or print action. The site does not provide accounts, saved projects or payment storage.
Outside the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom and Switzerland, Google services can create first-party or third-party cookies by default. In those regions, they do so only after an applicable consent signal permits it. Where the corresponding Google account message has been configured, published and is available for the visitor's region, Google Privacy & Messaging may record applicable privacy choices using technologies controlled by Google. Woodshop Math does not create a separate consent cookie or browser-storage record.
Analytics Cookies
Google Analytics 4 (GA4) is used for page-view and basic aggregate navigation measurement only. When Analytics storage is permitted, GA4 can set first-party cookies such as _ga and a property-specific _ga_… cookie to distinguish a browser and persist session state. No calculator input, dimension, result, cost, copy, download or print event is sent to GA4.
Advertising Cookies
Google AdSense is used to request and display advertising. When valid consent and regional signals permit, Google or eligible ad technology providers may place or read cookies or use similar identifiers for ad delivery, frequency control, reporting, security, fraud prevention and, only when consent permits, personalisation. Actual advertising behaviour and cookies vary by consent, browser, region, ad availability and Google configuration.

This inventory does not list _gads, IDE or other Google advertising cookies as active because they were not observed in the tested configuration. Google's actual cookies can change with consent, browser behaviour, region, account settings and the ad that is eligible to serve.
Consent and Regional Messages
Woodshop Math uses Google Consent Mode. Analytics and advertising cookies are set by default for visitors outside the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom and Switzerland. For visitors Google identifies as being in the EEA, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, Google tags start with consent denied for Analytics and advertising storage and only set Analytics or advertising cookies after consent is given through an applicable Google consent message. Until such a message is published and a choice is made, consent remains denied in those regions. While consent is denied, Google tags may still send limited cookieless requests, such as the consent state and basic page and browser information, as described in Google's consent mode documentation. The privacy and cookie policy pages do not load Google Analytics or AdSense when visited directly and never send Analytics page views.
Woodshop Math is configured to use Google Privacy & Messaging where the relevant Google account message has been configured, published and is available for the visitor's region. Google provides certified CMP functionality for its European regulations messages, including TCF integration, but availability on Woodshop Math depends on the corresponding account-side configuration and publication. A choice made in that message updates Google Consent Mode. Advertising behaviour follows the available CMP, TCF and regional signals. The choices shown depend on the production Google account configuration, region and consent settings. Rejecting keeps Analytics and advertising storage denied, and personalisation is permitted only when the relevant signals allow it. Manage options can allow Analytics and advertising choices to be handled separately where supported.
Outside the EEA, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, Google tags operate with consent granted by default, subject to the site's configuration, the browser's settings, Google's settings and applicable requirements. The site's Google Analytics code keeps Google Signals and advertising-personalisation signals disabled. The European message is not presented as a universal global banner.
Accept, Reject, Manage or Change Choices
When the applicable Google message is shown, use Consent, Do not consent or Manage options. To revisit a previous European choice, use Privacy and cookie settings in the footer while on a normal site page. The footer calls Google's documented preferences interface when it is available. If that API is unavailable on a policy route or in the visitor's region, the item returns here as a transparent fallback rather than showing a separate Woodshop Math consent store.
Changing a choice updates future eligible tag behaviour. It does not guarantee that previously stored Google cookies are automatically removed. Use browser controls to inspect, block or clear existing cookies if desired.
Visitors outside the EEA, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, including visitors in the United States, do not see the European message. They can opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, manage Google ad personalisation in Google Ads Settings, and block or clear cookies with the browser controls described below. Where Google publishes a US state regulations message for the site, its opt-out choices also apply.
Browser Controls
Most browsers allow visitors to block third-party cookies, block all cookies, clear existing cookies, use a private-browsing mode or set site-specific permissions. These controls can affect whether consent records, Analytics or advertising work as expected. Google also provides Ads Settings.
